  1. The number of “44% of prisoners in the U.S. are rearrested within one year of release” is actually compelling. I wonder what can Syracuse Center for Community Alternatives do more to integrate them better into the community. Since there is still a lot of discrimination against people who went to jail, is it helpful for the organization to start business that allow them to work there? It might be isolating them from the rest of the community, but providing them with a place to work would at least give them a sense of reintegrating, and engaging them with social obligation. I am not sure if this is a relevant suggestion, but hope it helps prompting you with ideas.
